New Referees

IF YOU SEE YELLOW STAY MELLOW!

This is an important note to Coaches, players and spectators to be mindful that if you see a referee in a yellow referee polo they are in their first year of match officiating.

It is really important for recruitment and retention that ALL MATCH OFFICIALS are able to operate in an enjoyable environment along with players and those that support rugby teams.

We are extremely appreciative of Coaches that ensure the ARU ‘Expectations of Behaviour’ guide is followed and are proactive in ensuring players and spectators DO NOT verbally threaten ANY match officials or question their decisions (especially in their 1st year). Those that run the touchline need to be actively supportive of referee decisions also.

Any Adults and students over 13 years of age who feel they could do a good job at refereeing to help the kids enjoy the game please contact Caitlin Ryan Brumbies Rugby c.ryan@brumbies.com.au. Student referees receive $20 a game.

If coaches have genuine concerns over the safety of their players during a game and significant issues over referee performance, please direct these through their club representative to Caitlin Ryan, Referee Administrator, Brumbies Rugby c.ryan@brumbies.com.au so that we can follow up appropriately. We also welcome positive feedback too!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT and STAYING MELLOW!
