Become a Referee (and get paid)
We desperately need referees. Plus you will be paid for every game! Marist Rugby Club will fund your training and your registration fees. Details are available at the ARU here and also highlighted below.
The ACT Rugby Referees Association also values the vital role of Rugby Union referees, with local training, payment and support information here.
Rugby Australia supports Referee Rugby courses designed for kids Under 15 years of age. This is an introductory course to refereeing and will allow kids, if they wish to, to referee junior games on weekends. Through their refereeing journey, they will be helped along by referee coaches.
For many kids, learning how to referee also helps their own individual game as they understand the laws of the game a bit more. This skill can also be used for kids completing their Duke of Edinburgh. This will go towards their hours they need to complete.
