Marist under 12 Sky had a slow start to their round 4 clash against St Edmunds after a week away from the training paddock on the year 6 camp. As a result St Edmunds ran in 2 quick tries and it looked as though the boys were struggling.
Eventually the Marist boys got their focus back and started tackling and holding on to possession. As a result Josh Miller scored a great solo try which was converted by Joe Sidorko. This was followed by another St Edmunds try.
The second half was a different story for Marist with them quickly back on the attack thanks to Euan Fraser and Nick Ball who were making plenty of metres with strong hit ups. Eaun was rewarded with a try which was converted by Joe Sidorko.
Ball possession was key for the second half resulting in strong runs from the backs including Ethan Brown, Josh Miller and Mitch Benham. The forwards also dominated the second half with Jack Holyland, Flyn Jocumsen & Will Pilloni leading from the front and Sam Keogh rewarded for a great performance at flanker with a try.
A great second half from the boys but plenty to work on this week at training for our clash against Vikings on the weekend.

The boys travelled to Grammar this week for the clash against Grammar and got off to a flying start with a solo try to Mitch Benham after a minute and half. This was quickly followed up by tries to Grant Craft, Jack Holyland and Joe Sidorko and conversions by Joe Sidorko and Josh Harrison.
The second half started out with Grammar on the attack and scoring a quick try. This woke the boys up and they quickly got back on top with tries to Seamus O'Kane, Joe Sidorko, Sam Keogh , Jack Holyland. The final two tries were by Joe Sidorko and Jack Holyland. Both getting a hat trick of tries which deserved special mention for an outstanding effort.
All up it was a superb performance from all of the boys. They played well as a team and didn't allow the opposition to get much possession which is one of our key aims this year. The tackling was great and the clean out's gave our backs good ball and they made the most of it.

Marist under 12 Sky travelled to Gungahlin on a glorious Saturday morning for the clash against Gungahlin.
The game plan was challenged with Gungahlin only having 13 players resulting in some last minute changes to the lineups to ensure we matched numbers.
The Marist defence was a little rusty in the first 15 minutes with Gungahlin running in 4 quick tries.
Late in the first half a strong solo try by Sam Spain seemed to spark up the boys who lifted their defence.
The second half Marist team was the team of old, being lead strongly in defence by Will Pilloni and some great forward attacking runs from Nick Ball and Euan Fraser giving the backs more ball. Josh Miller and Mitch Benham made lots of ground and supported well by new boys Sean Barrett and Andre Le.
Second half tries to Josh Miller and Sam Spain and conversions from Joe Sidorko had the boys quickly gaining on a tiring Gungahlin team. Unfortunately the time ran out as the boys got on a roll.

Marist Under 12 Sky's commenced the 2013 season where they left off last year as premiers with a comprehensive rugby lesson to their opposition Uni-Norths who they narowly defeated in the semi finals last year to get a grand final berth.
The first have was an outstanding display of running rugby with very few mistakes made. The passing was crisp and the clean out by the forwards allowed for the backs to run freely, resulting in the first try by Braden Spencer. This was quickly followed by tries to Mitch Benham, Brendan Egan and a double from Grant Craft.
The opposition threw everything at the boys in the second half but their defence was solid. A superb relieving kick from Brendan Egan allowed the boys to get better field position which resulted in second half tries to Braeden Spencer and Brendan Egan.
It is hard to single out boys for a good performance as everyone on the team played fantastic rugby. Some stands out where the centre pairing of Mitch Benham and Braden Spencer who provided lots of opportunity for players outside of them. Sean Barrett in his first season was great in defence and the forwards were driving forward all day thanks to Declan Booth, and Euan Fraser.
Special thanks to Miles Craft from the under 10's who filled in for us in the second half and held his ground against the older boys
